Witch Hitch – A Children’s Picture Book by Greta Yorke, Illustrated by Maggie Bolton

Witch Hitch, is the first of four delightful children’s picture book collaborations between Ayr Writers’ Club members, Greta Yorke and Maggie Bolton.

Winner of the 2018 Scottish Association of Writers’ award for Self Published Book, Witch Hitch is a  lovely, fun adventure through a world where so many witches just can’t find their things, no matter where they look. But surely they must be there somewhere…

Helpful Rosie cycles in to point them in the right direction and makes a whole bunch of new friends along the way.

Cleverly educational for the younger 3-8 year old, and told in rhyme, it’s an immersion in number, colour and repetition that is sure to enchant.

“I have bought copies of this book for all my nieces and nephews. They love to join in with the repetitive rhymes and the older ones are beginning to read it for themselves. They also enjoy the challenge of hunting for lost items- not always easy!” – Annie R.

“My P1 class loved this book! It’s repetitive so they can join in with the story and it uses numbers as a witch is added to each new page. The illustrations are gorgeous and my class loved searching for the missing item on each page. A great wee story.” –  Fiona Anderson

“A joy to read and a welcome gift to any little one. Great story and lovely illustrations.” – Sheils

Available at a variety of local outlets and online, Greta and Maggie are happy to make copies of Witch Hitch available for fellow club members, any week (£6).
